Ciao! Sunday was the market in Crespano, a town about 1 km away from campus. It was basically like a big flee market all through the town. There were tons and tons of shops. Only Claire and Rachel bought anything though, and they only got a scarf each. The shops ranged from clothing and electronics to fruits and fish, lol. They even had hard core riding lawnmowers there. We went to this cool pub for lunch around 11 because all the food shops were making us really hungry. The waiter didn't speak English but we didn't have much of a problem giving her our order. Since the menu was all in Italian we used what little knowledge of food words to order either versions of bruschetta or pizza. It was all amazing. The pizza was exactly how I remembered it this time, as opposed to the one on Saturday, and the bruschetta was good as well, though a little different than in the States.
Speaking of which, we have all got into the habit of calling the US the States now because thats what everyone here calls it. After lunch we headed back out to finish looking at the rest of the market. One of the actual stores, a gelato store, had a funny/kinda scary sign. The little child looks a little possessed. His face is hard to see so click on the picture to see it in a larger view.
Once the market started to end (around 1), we started to explore the rest of the town. We went to a nice cemetery that had a church and bell tower and walked the back alleys. Then tired of walking we started back to campus and started planning our trip for next weekend. We are going to Roma. Ciao!
Sounds like a fun weekend! Have a great time in Rome!
