Milan

The first stop on our week long break of the semester was Milan. Arriving around 8 o’clock, we went and checked in to our hotel which was really nice. We were split up into two rooms, one for two and the other for three. They both really clean, had big bathrooms, and TVs. We turned it on and saw the plane crashes that had happened in the US and in the UK. It was easily the nicest place we have stayed on our journeys, though it was the only hotel we have been at and not a hostel. Starving, we asked our desk man where a good place to eat was and headed toward it. The meal was amazing. We got a sampler appetizer and got like 4 different things plus was had some excellent pizza and pasta with some wine. The waiter was really funny. He was a poet, from what we could tell, and gave us some flyers about himself. We weren’t sure but we thought he might have owned the place too. After dinner, we walked around for a bit then went to bed.

The next morning we woke up early, had a great breakfast, and headed to the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie to see if we could get in to see the last supper. We had tried to book it online but were unsuccessful and when we arrived we found it to still be completely booked for the entire day even though they had a tour thing every 20 min. Disappointed we went to Milan’s duomo Cathedral. It was big and in the Gothic style.

Next, we went to the market that some other students had told us about. It was pretty much like all the other ones we have been to and none of us ended up getting anything. Done with the market, we took the metro to the airport and got on our flight to Lisbon, Portugal.
